Elan and credit card partner Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) recently came together in Dalton, Georgia, to support more than 115 local students participating in Junior Achievement’s BizTown program through a $20,000 donation from the Elan Charitable Giving program. The volunteer event helped students experience firsthand how a community and economy function.

When launching the Elan Charitable Giving program we knew that we wanted to give more than a monetary donation. It was important for us to include an opportunity for Elan staff to volunteer alongside our credit card partners in their communities. These events are, and continue to be, the most meaningful part of Elan Charitable Giving and we look forward to continuing to give the gift of time for years to come.

Phoenix Children’s was selected by Arizona-based Desert Financial Credit Union to receive a $15,000 Credit Union Day donation to support their 1 Darn Cool School program. Employees from both Elan and Desert Financial joined together to assemble 450 school kits for preschool and toddler patients and had the pleasure of surprising the hospital with an additional $10,000 donation. HorseSense Therapeutic Riding Center was selected by New Jersey-based Manasquan Bank to receive a $10,000 donation to support their mission. The donation provides 200 families equine therapy at no cost. Employees from both Elan and Manasquan Bank recently joined together for a day of service of planting gardens and cleaning up horse trails after surprising the non-profit with an additional $10,000 donation. 2024
The Neighbors’ Place in Wausau, Wisconsin, was one of the selected organizations nominated by our partner Connexus Credit Union to receive a $12,500 donation. Throughout the event, during National Diaper Need Awareness Week volunteers sorted and packed over 8,000 diapers, prepared 125 Potty training kits and spent time cleaning and organizing the facility. Elan met credit card partner, Think Bank, for a day of service at 360 Communities to further the $12,500 donation given in January as part of the Elan Charitable Giving program. Having recently completed a food drive, volunteers spent the day cleaning, sterilizing, organizing, and restocking one of 360 Communities’ five food shelf locations. Read more in our article.
Elan was honored to join one of the Credit Union Day 2023 recipients, Envision Credit Union, for an in-person volunteer event at their selected charity, Second Harvest of the Big Bend. Together, 167 bags of protein, 366 bags of sweet potatoes, and 470 boxes of dry goods were packed for distribution. Read more in our article.
2023
In October 2023, the Elan Credit Card team assembled in Minneapolis for an all-team meeting and took time to also volunteer with the Greater Twin Cities United Way. Employees supported the organization by packing 80 kitchen and 40 office supply kits and creating 30 blankets. Read more in our article.
Copper State Credit Union selected Arizona Helping Hands to receive a $15,000 donation. Employees from Copper State Credit Union and Elan Credit Card met for a day of volunteering to assemble decorated birthday bags. Volunteers collected three books and five age-appropriate gifts for each child, wrapped the items and packaged them in a hand-decorated gift bag with a birthday card. Read more in our article.
Elan Credit Card partner, Heartland Credit Union, selected HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital to receive a $15,000 donation as part of the Elan Charitable Giving program. Employees met for an afternoon of volunteering this spring at the hospital campus and surprised the foundation with an additional $5,000 donation. Read more in our article.
Elan and AACUC were joined by volunteers from AACUC Texas Regional Chapter member credit unions Resource One Credit Union, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, Neighborhood Credit Union, and Baylor Health Care System Credit Union to guide students through a budgeting model in conjunction with national financial literacy month. $15,000 was donated to Meals on Wheels of Lancaster as part of the Elan Charitable Giving program in partnership with Penlanco Federal Credit Union. Elan and Penlanco employees worked with Meals on Wheels staff and other long-term volunteers to prepare, pack, and deliver meals to more than 200 people in need. Read more in our article.

Elan joined credit card partner Wakota Federal Credit Union to volunteer at Neighbors, Inc. as part of the Elan Charitable Giving program. During the event, volunteers packed 100 emergency food boxes and surprised Neighbors with an additional $5,000 contribution, totaling $17,500, to help fund all their work to end hunger. Serving over 4,000 homeless individuals and families each year, Our Father’s House received a $17,500 donation from Elan on behalf of our credit card partner, Workers Credit Union, to support their mission of helping those experiencing homelessness. Read more in our article.
Elan employees joined credit card partner Sharonview Federal Credit Union in North Carolina for an afternoon of learning and volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. During the volunteer event, Elan and Sharonview surprised the food bank with an additional $5,000 contribution, totaling $17,500, to help the food bank fund their work to end hunger. Elan and Gold Coast Federal Credit Union teams volunteered together to build supply baskets for local teachers through the Red Apple Supplies program. The program provides educators and students with free classroom materials such as pencils and copy paper, to STEM materials and activity books for all ages.
